Occasionally, you may need to modify your personal information in your October account, such as changing your IBAN or phone number. You can make most of these changes on your own, but for security reasons, our support team may need to assist you in some cases. Keep reading to learn how.
Change your IBAN or tax residence
For security reasons, the October team will be directly involved and will support you in case of IBAN or tax residence changes:
For a change of IBAN 🏦, please send a bank statement in your name with your new IBAN to [email protected] along with your birthdate and birthplace (security measure). Should you be using an online bank (N26, Revolut, etc…) please remember to include a proof of residency in your name. This can be an invoice from a utility service, a rental receipt, or a property insurance document.
To update your fiscal residence🏡, please send a tax statement (income, municipality, or property) in your name to [email protected]
Change your personal information by yourself
You can change your e-mail address, phone number, and postal address, as well as update your October account password, by yourself.
To change your personal information, log into your October account. If you use the web version of the platform, click on your initials in the top-right corner to access the Edit your profile tab. On mobile, click on the settings button, the last icon on the bottom of the welcome screen in the app. Take a look at the screenshots below to see an example.
For a change of e-mail address 📧
Click on the e-mail address field and enter your new e-mail address. Make sure you enter your new e-mail address in the correct format. For security reasons, we have set up a multi-factor authentication to confirm the change (a 6-digit code sent by SMS or biometrical verification, such as TouchID of FaceID). This step is to ensure that only you can make the change.
Following the e-mail change request, we will send an activation link to your new address to confirm the change. We will also send an e-mail to your previous inbox confirming the change. If you receive such an e-mail but did not make the change, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
For a change of phone number 📱
Click on the phone number field and enter your new phone number. For security reasons, we have set up a multi-factor authentication to confirm the change (a 6-digit code sent by email or biometrical verification and security question). This step is to ensure that only you can make the change.
To verify the new phone number, a 6-digit-code will be sent to this number. If you have entered the code correctly, your phone number will be changed and you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If you receive such an e-mail but you did not make the change, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
For a change of postal address 🏡
Click on the postal address field and enter your new postal address. If you do not find your address in the drop down list, click on “Can’t find my address?” to enter your complete address manually. Then, click on the “Save the information” button to begin the change verification process.
For a change of password 🔐
